“The responsible overseeing and protection of something considered worth caring for and preserving.”

There are two constants in our business on a daily basis that we believe are worth caring for–the land and people. Here are a few ways that we steward both of these precious resources:

Sustainable Farming

  • Innovative Irrigation & Spray Technology
We utilize technology to increase water usage efficiency and minimize the material needs for effective spray applications on the crops that we farm.
  • Integrated Pest Management
Our use of integrated pest management systems, including the introduction of beneficial insects, use of organic materials and use of natural predators, protect crops without harming the growing environment. Our successful implementation of these strategies relies on our knowledge of all aspects of crop, environment, pest & nutrition needs of the plant.
  • Leading the way in Food & Employee Safety practices
Our approach to food and employee safety is grounded in the benchmarks set forth by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), including Global Good Agricultural Practice (Global G.A.P.) audits for properties, and facility audits such as Primus GFS, SQF and/or BRC.

Social Investment

  • AgriCare Scholarship Program
Every year, AgriCare awards scholarships for higher education to team members and their families to promote personal growth, skill development and career advancement.
  • ESL Training
Started by Eric & Laura Pond for employees in Oregon in 2012, AgriCare offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes that are free of charge and conveniently at the employee’s work sit to remove the stresses of travel and minimize additional time away from family.
  • Leadership University
A company-sponsored leadership development course for team members designed to facilitate growth in customer service, conflict management, management style identification and additional personal skills that lead to personal development both at work and at home.
  • Emerging Agricultural Technology (EAT) Pathway – Porterville Unified School District
With a desire to invest in future generations, AgriCare is actively involved in local schools. From membership on the Advisory Board for the EAT Pathway program based out of Strathmore High School and hosting field trips to classroom visits and hands-on projects, AgriCare and its team members seek to provide hands-on learning experiences.
  • Blueberry Family Health Foundation
AgriCare is a founding partner of the Blueberry Family Health Foundation, a charitable foundation focused on the fight against Type 2 Diabetes in children.
