Experience

Tom and his wife, Karen, founded AgriCare in 1990. Specializing in agriculture asset management, farm management services and technical consulting, AgriCare currently manages over 9,500 acres in California and Oregon. Having started the business out of a passion for farming, stewardship of the land, sustainability and exceptional service, Tom has intentionally worked to pass his values on to the entire management team. As a result, AgriCare’s overarching mission remains focused on both serving the customer and stewarding the land with the utmost integrity, respect and faithfulness.

Tom’s expertise in grapes, citrus and blueberries has earned him a leadership role in the agriculture community. A background rich with a variety of experiences ranging from pest control advisor to farm manager, research agronomist, crop consultant, sales manager, and director of various farming operations, has prepared Tom for both supportive and leadership roles in the Ag industry. He has held the office of President of the California Olive Commission, and was a founding member of the California Olive Association. He was an executive board member of California Citrus Mutual, and currently serves as Vice President of the California Blueberry Association. Tom was also a member of the USDA Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter Task Force.

With a desire to support the growth and advancement of the agriculture industry, Tom has served as a guest speaker for various industry organizations. He has addressed topics such as the development, farming and cultural practices of blueberries in California, and the growing of both organic citrus and blueberry crops. Tom has addressed the California State Assembly and legislators in our nation’s capital regarding various issues concerning the California blueberry and citrus industries.
